Ever since I was little I have loved watching and doing anything food related. I was one of those kids that always asked for an Easy Bake Oven every Christmas. Since my parents knew I would put myself into a sugar comma within 5 minutes of receiving it, I had to wait until I grew up to have my own real sized oven to put myself in sugar commas with.
I love cooking, baking, and creating food that myself and others can enjoy. While I'm no master chef, more like a beginner who still may need to refer back to a Cooking for Dummies book, I have a passion for food and a drive to create new and better food ideas. I hope to share my experiences, successes, and failures on this blog.
Since Jake is my taste tester and has that wonderful personality trait of being quite honest, I'll also try to get his opinion as much as possible on my food creations. For those of us who cook for guys, it is no surprise that they can have quite a different pallet and preferences. Hopefully "Jake's Take" will help voice the men's side of the recipes I try.
Jake is your average guy. He works in advertising and loves steak, bourbon, snowboarding, and UFC. We also just incorporated a bar into our apartment which he has deemed his "man nook". Just like I have a passion for cooking, Jake has a passion for shooters, shots, and mixed drinks. I will try to incorporate some of his drink creations into my blog as well.
Along with my love of all things food, I also enjoy skiing, running, and outdoors adventures. My career has been in politics for the past few years which makes DC the perfect city for me :)
